Rachel started her performing career at age 16 when she was spotted in youth theatre and cast in
a production with the professional company at her local theatre. She then went on to train at LIPA
where she gained a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts and after graduating, was lucky enough to
appear in several West End shows and International Tours.
As a tutor, Rachel work’s privately with several current West End performers. She has also worked
as a teaching fellow at several specialist performing arts colleges including LIPA and Leeds
Conservatoire where she has taught a variety of subjects including singing technique, acting
through song, repertoire and professional preparation on the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre, BA
(Hons) Songwriting & Performance and Foundation Dance programmes. Her current role includes
the preparation of foundation students for audition at degree level and she sits on the audition
panel for entry onto the Foundation and Degree programmes at LIPA.
Rachel believes in an holistic approach to teaching voice which incorporates science based
techniques, relaxation and body awareness and positive performance psychology in order to allow
each individual to reach their full potential. Rachel has a PG Cert in Performing Arts Medicine and
is a trained vocal first aider.
