Terms Of Service

Payments

  • Payments are due monthly in advance for all lessons booked in for the  duration month
  • All payments as of September 2021 are online only
  • Stripe charges a 1.4% transaction fee which will be included in the total of your bill
  • Your student portal keeps your account balance where you can always check payment and lesson history.

If you have any questions or concerns please let us know and will do our best to accommodate your needs where possible. 

The Student Portal

  • You will receive login details to your own student portal account on sign-up.
  • You can view lessons currently booked and cancel in advance directly through your personal calendar.
  • All cancellations must be made with 24 hour notice or are billable. 
  • Please make sure all contact details including phones and emails are up-to-date as we require this information to send you email and SMS lesson reminders. These are also required should we need them for track and trace or in emergency, 
  • Lessons booked into the calendar will create an invoice each month and will be automatically sent to you at the end of each month. 

Free Introductory Lesson

Terms & Conditions

We currently offer a free introduction session once per student. This is to allow you to meet your tutor, visit our studio and ask any questions you may have.

Upon a new free lesson enquiry, we will offer a time slot for your free introductory lesson which can only be held for up to 48 hours – if you do not confirm the time slot time within that 48 hours that time slot will be offered to another student.

If you fail to attend your free introductory session without 24-hours notice, then we will be unable to offer you another. We kindly ask that you respect the tutors’ time and please give as much notice as possible if you cannot attend so we can offer the slot to another student. If you wish to book again then we will require a 1-lesson deposit as insurance for another no-show.

Regular Lesson Slots (weekly)

To guarantee a regular slot, lessons must be paid in advance monthly before or on the day first lesson. This will be the students reserved time slot until cancelled or the time is changed. Failure to complete payments will result in losing your slot and lesson times will not be confirmed.

Regular Lesson Slots (fortnightly)

Fortnightly slots are more liable to be moved over weekly slots due to potential loss of work every other week. Where possible we will attempt to alternate fortnightly slots with other students as to avoid this loss of work.

Lesson Cancellations & Absences

If you wish to cancel a booked lesson, you can cancel a lesson (up to 24 hours before) on your personal calendar found in your student portal. Alternatively you can email hello@ymastudios.com or contact your tutor.

24 hour Cancellation Policy

  • 24 hours or more cancellation notice – The lesson will be re-arranged for a later date, or the lesson can be cancelled.
  • Less than 24 hours cancellation notice/no notice/no show – No refund will be granted.
  • Regular cancellations or failure to make payments on time can will result in the lesson slot to be open to other students.

Tutor Cancellations

If a tutor has to cancel a lesson at any time you will be notified by text, email or phone and a make-up lesson will be arranged unless notified in advance.

Holidays

Should you need to be away for multiple weeks please let us know with reasonable notice what dates you will be absent and we will cancel or re-schedule those lessons.

    Recording Studio Services

    Studio services require a 50% deposit to secure booking.

    • Over 5 days cancellation notice – A full refund will be issued
    • Less than 5 day cancellation notice – The deposit is non-refundable in less than 7 days cancellation notice due to loss of potential work.
